Ontario One Call plays a vital role in protecting public safety and underground infrastructure. They are responsible for providing a locate request system that streamlines communications between those who want to dig with the owners of buried infrastructure, while regulating the public locate industry.

In 2012, the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act was passed, which stipulates that by law, anyone in the province of Ontario must contact Ontario One Call before they dig.

If you are planting a tree, building a fence or a deck, digging a new garden, or doing any project that requires you to dig, it is stipulated by law that you must contact Ontario One Call before you dig. It’s free, it’s easy, it’s the law.
